Introduction & Background

Purpose:  The Purpose of this whitepaper is to highlight the need to develop a tool that accelerates delivery of MBA products as recommended in Joint Requirements Oversight Council Memo (JROCM 023-22) with subject line: Joint All-Domain Command & Control Recommendations, signed by Admiral Grady on 27 Apr 2022.  

Problem:  The current proven and validated MBA process, while effective, has limited ability to scale to the growing demand for such data-intensive products.  Further, no capability or tool exists to integrate MBA mission architecture products into Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) format in SysML. No repository exists for JADC2-aligned reference architectures/diagrams for MBSE use. 

Approach:  KCG is developing a prototype to automate the manual processes that are currently labor intensive and time consuming: Nodal Analysis, Model Enabled Solution Analysis (MESA), and MBSE.
